Smještena u Melbourne sredinom 1970-ih, „Kao ris priča je o Sparri Farrellu, bivšem zatvoreniku koji pokušava započeti novi život u novom gradu. Pronašao je pošten posao te se čak i zaručio s predivnom Paulom. No izgledi za taj novi život ugroženi su kada ga pronađe njegov prijeteći i karizmatični zatvorski drug Pommie nakon izlaska iz zatvora. Sparru k sebi neobjašnjivo natrag vuku svijet i čovjek za koje je bio siguran da ih je želio ostaviti za sobom.
