Opis:

Bogati Amerikanac Jervis Pendleton III slučajno upozna veselu 18-godišnju štićenicu francuskog sirotišta Julie Andre te joj odluči anonimno platiti školovanje na fakultetu u Novoj Engleskoj. Iako ona stalno šalje pisma svom tajanstvenom dobročinitelju, on joj nikada ne otpisuje. Nekoliko godina poslije posjećuje je na fakultetu, no još joj ne želi otkriti svoj pravi identitet. Unatoč velikoj razlici u godinama, oni se zaljubljuju.
Film je bio nominiran za šest Oscara, među ostalim i za najbolju scenografiju, najbolju originalnu glazbu (Alfred Newman) i najbolju originalnu pjesmu (Johnny Mercer za pjesmu "Something's Gotta Give").
