Opis:

Film govori o istorijskom slučaju navodne krađe identiteta. Martin Ger ostavlja mladu ženu u malom francuskom selu da bi se borio u ratu i putovao. Osam ili devet godina kasnije, Martin se vraća. Svi ga radosno dočekuju i prihvataju kao svog jer zna detalje svog bivšeg života.
Posle nekoliko godina, skitnice prepoznaju u njemu Arnoa iz susednog sela Tila, ali seljani odbacuju te tvrdnje kao laži. A kad Martin zatraži novac koji mu stric duguje i on se okreće protiv Martina, to dovodi do suđenja o njegovom identitetu. Martin se dobro drži, a seljani su podeljeni oko toga da li je taj čovek u stvari Martin ili nije...
