Opis:

Ratni film o "Operaciji Shingle", napadu na talijansku luku Anzio tijekom 2. svjetskog rata, 1944. godine, i savezničkom iskrcavanju. Njemački otpor bio je snažan tako da su borbe trajale četiri mjeseca. Gubici su bili golemi, poginulo je 30.000 vojnika, ali put u Rim bio je otvoren...
U filmu nastupaju međunarodne filmske zvijezde, kao što su Robert Mitchum, Peter Falk, Robert Ryan, i tumače uglavnom izmišljene likove koji se temelje na stvarnim sudionicima u borbi. Scenarij je napravljen prema knjizi "Anzio", Wynforda Vaughan-Thomasa, koji je tada bio BBC-jev ratni reporter.
