Antologijski film ruskih autora Grigorija Kozinceva i Leonida Trauberga,utemeljen na glasovitom predlošku N. V. Gogolja.
Ruski umjetnici Grigorij M. Kozincev, Leonid Z. Trauberg i Sergej J. Jutkjevič osnovali su 1921. godine glasovitu umjetničku skupinu FEKS, odnosno 'Tvornicu ekscentričnog glumca', s ciljem urušavanja konvencionalnih kazališnih formi kroz ksperimentiranje, koje je trebalo dovesti do 'intenzivnog osjećaja novog života'. Kozincev i Trauberg zajedno su režirali i filmove, a po mnogima, 'Kabanica' je umjetnički
najznačajnije ostvarenje njihove grupe. Utemeljena na glasovitoj priči ruskog klasika N. V. Gogolja, 'Kabanica' sjajno svjedoči o 'eksperimentalnoj' fazi velikog ruskog redatelja G. M. Kozinceva (i njegovog suradnika L. Trauberga).
