The story of programming prodigy and information activist Aaron Swartz. From Swartz's help in the development of the basic internet protocol RSS to his co-founding of Reddit, his fingerprints are all over the internet. But it was Swartz's groundbreaking work in social justice and political organizing combined with his aggressive approach to information access that ensnared him in a two year legal nightmare. It was a battle that ended with the taking of his own life at the age of 26. Aaron's story touched a nerve with people far beyond the online communities in which he was a celebrity. This film is a personal story about what we lose when we are tone deaf about technology and its relationship to our civil liberties.

Priča o Aaronu Swartzu, jednoj od najtragičnijih ličnosti današnjice,'wunderkindu'
koji je izabrao da ne zarađuje milione nego da se bori za ideale slobode, prerano
preminulom (zvanično, u pitanju je samoubistvo). Autor i njegovi sagovornici tvrde
da je Aaron pao kao jedna u nizu žrtava večne borbe za slobodu i takođe večne borbe
između progresivnog i konzervativnog razmišljanja. Aaron je bio genijalac koji je
naučio da čita sa tri godine i da programira pre nego što je pošao u školu. Sa 14
godina je radio u grupi ljudi koji su izmislili RSS feed. Na prvoj godini fakulteta
je sa dvojicom saradnika osnovao društvenu mrežu Reddit. Ali ono što ga razlikuje
od drugih kompjuterskih i internetskih milionera je to što je njegova istinska strast
bila besplatna podela dostupnog znanja kao osnova progresivne politike i progresivnog
razmišljanja. U tom smislu je bio sličniji osnivaču World Wide Weba, Timu Berens-Leeju,
koji je svoj izum podelio umesto da na njemu kapitalizira.
