Opis:

U 14. stoljeću u Engleskoj mladi redovnik prekine svoje zavjete časti te kao odbjegli svećenik pridružuje se putujućem kazalištu. Ondje svjedoči ubojstvu. Ubijen je jedan od glumaca kojega sada zamjenjuje odbjegli redovnik. Putujuća družina stiže u grad u kojem je ubijen dječak, a za njegovo ubojstvo optužena je gluhonijema djevojka. Na temelju tog slučaja nastaje i predstava, a prlikom izvođenja mještani otkrivaju nelogičnosti u optužbama. Pozornica tako postaje mjesto gdje se saznaje prava istina.
