    "The Trail of the Lonesome Pine" je treća filmska obrada novele  John Fox Jr. Radnja filma je smeštena u planinama Virdžinije. Džek Hejl dolazi da pripremi trasu za novu prugu. Gorštakinja Džun Toliver se zaljubljuje u Džeka Hejlija  što izaziva neprijateljstvo  Džuninog momka. Sve to stavlja Džeka Hejlija u sred dugogodišnje zavade između Džunine porodice i drugog planinskog klana. U toku sukoba gine Džunin najmlađi brat što će najzad dovesti do smirivanja strasti.
