Opis:

Britanski crno-bijeli ratni film snimljen 1959. godine u režiji Vala Guesta. Predstavlja adaptaciju istoimene televizijske drame Petera R. Newmana emitirane prethodne godine na BBC-ju i inspirirane stvarnim incidentom koji se 1942. godine zbio u Burmi za vrijeme tamošnjih borbi u Drugom svjetskom ratu.[1] Radnja prikazuje kako prilikom povlačenja pred nadmoćnim japanskim snagama mala britanska jedinica dolazi u britansko selo i otkriva tajne japanske planove koje može dešifrirati jedan od žitelja koji je surađivao sa Japancima. Protagonist, koga tumači Stanley Baker, je britanski oficir koji planove nastoje dešifrirati po svaku cijenu te u tu svrhu uzima žitelje kao taoce i prijeti da će ih pogubiti ukoliko ne dobije željene informacije.[wiki]
